Elysian M. Kurnik is a member of the Transactions Team at Galuppo & Blake, ACPLC. Ms. Kurnik’s practice focuses on projects involving land use and real estate transactions. Prior to joining Galuppo & Blake, Ms. Kurnik practiced real estate law in Southwest Riverside County.
Ms. Kurnik is a member of the State Bar of California and is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Southern District of California and and all state courts of California. She received her Bachelor of Arts from UCLA, her Master of Urban Planning from the University of Washington, and her Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law, where she graduated Cum Laude. While attending law school on the prestigious California Western Trustees’ Scholarship, Ms. Kurnik earned several honors including Academic Achievement Awards (top of class) in Legal Skills I and Alternative Dispute Resolution, Dean’s List, Pro Bono Honors Society, and Public Service Honors Society. She also served as an associate writer and editor for the California Western Law Review. Additionally, the State Bar of California recognized Ms. Kurnik with the Wiley W. Manuel Pro Bono Services Certificate in both 2011 and 2012 for the pro bono work she performed.
Prior to attending law school, Ms. Kurnik enjoyed a successful career in the field of land use and environmental planning, working on projects throughout San Diego County and beyond. As an urban planner, she helped write several Master Plans and Specific Plans for large-scale development projects, prepared CEQA compliant documents, and oversaw numerous projects through the entitlement process. Ms. Kurnik is excited to bring this experience and knowledge to her law practice.
