G10 Attorneys assisted a regional developer in obtaining changes to existing land use plans, lot line adjustments, easements, CC&Rs, and related entitlements for purposes of redeveloping a 100,000 square foot stand alone Target store into a climate controlled self-storage facility.
G10 assisted its client in negotiating and purchasing a San Diego Mission Valley hotel that had been put into a court ordered receivership. G10 negotiated with the receiver in order to sell the asset through a non-judicial foreclosure, whereat G10’s client was the successful bidder.
G10 successfully defended a $10 million lawsuit against a San Diego based commercial property owner/manager in San Diego Superior Court following an 8 day jury trial. The lawsuit alleged that the owner was negligent in disposing of the tenant’s personal property after the tenant was believed to have vacated. The tenant valued the personal property, which included scientific equipment and research, at over $10 million. The jury found that our client’s actions were reasonable and awarded no damages to the tenant. G10’s client was awarded its attorney’s fees and costs by the court.

This is part 2 of a 2 part series on Managed Retreat, originally published in Coast News. Without much public fanfare, the California Coastal Commission began to promulgate a policy of “Managed Retreat”. Unfortunately for those living along the California coast, this policy has become the Commission’s newest gizmo for limiting or taking away homeowners’ rights to protect their homes.
